Ran across a strange trend that originated in India. It’s really strange.
Madan Kataria, a physician in Mumbai, India, thinks that laughter is medicine for the soul. He started to notice his patients getting better faster when they laughed. He believes in it so much that he started laughing clubs or laughter yoga. Laughter clubs are small groups of people who come together early each morning at parks, village greens, and shopping centers to spend a half an hour…laughing.

It all starts with a little repetition of “ho-ho, ha-ha-ha” and then making funny faces at one another. And then the laughter comes.
There are about 2,500 laughter clubs around the world. The goal of the clubs is “thought-free” laughter.
Kataria insists that laughter reduces stress hormones and boosts immune systems. ”There should be a laughing room in every company. If you can have a smoking room in a company, why not have a laughing room?”
You won’t catch me at one of these clubs. But it does make me want to laugh more.
