Being Teachable Towards Others: Admit Weakness

Any success I have had in my life I attribute it to the things I’ve learned from other people. So many people don’t learn what they could and don’t progress like they should because they aren’t proactive about learning from other people.
ADMIT WEAKNESS
The first step in being teachable towards others is being able to admit that you don’t know everything.
We need to be able to say “I’m sorry” and “I don’t know.” It takes a lot of security to say those things.
No one said you had to be perfect.
God never said you had to be perfect.
You know you’re not perfect.
You don’t know anyone who is perfect.
There are times where I tell my wife “I have no idea what we should do.”
I tell my leaders sometimes “I don’t know why this is happening.”
This is okay. I have learned that I can be confident but still be weak. If I act like I have it together all the time then I’ll be just like some of the people I can’t stand to be around.
The bible says that it’s our weakness that shows God’s power.
The apostle Paul was being used by God in miraculous ways. Supernatural things were happening through him and he thought it was cool and he wanted to tell everyone about it. But God reminded him of how weak he is.
Check it out for yourself: II Corinthians 12:8-10
I am weak! You are weak! So let’s be honest about it in our relationships, the way we lead, and the way we live.
