Little Getaway

We took a little time to get away to a lake house in Heber Springs, Arkansas with our best friends Brandon & Rebecca Shatswell. They are the worship pastors at NLC. Just a little time to rest & also work a little bit away from home.We are having a great time hanging out, clearing our brains, squirrel watching, scrabble playing, & letting lil Mac cover himself in leaves & throw hundred of rocks in the lake.

Things I Learned On Vacation

We went on vacation to Destin, Florida with our good friends Jared and Hannah Bridges. Here are few things I learned:

Road trips with a 1 year old are a little bit different than when it was just Ashley and I.
Mac is like his daddy. We don’t like sand. He just stood there and cried.
The “Name Game” makes road trips better.
The ocean is crazy awesome. I love it.
I like vacationing with friends.
Don’t drive 63 in a 50 through Eudora, Arkansas.
Songs are more fun when you sing them with an asian accent or add the word “freakin” before occasional words.
Don’t ever drive through the night. It’s miserable.
Wherever you are be there. Life is short. God is good.

Lots Going On

Wow this is a busy time of year. 7 weddings in a 3 week span. Crazy crazy. Very proud of these college students. Ashley and I are watching families begin right in front of our very eyes. Very cool.

Here is a pic of our recent vision meeting for Elevation. Our first service is Aug. 23.

And here are our newest interns. Taylor Clark, Turner Moore, & Andy Morris. They are incredible leaders and are about to learn what it really means to be in ministry. =)

No posts in a while. Sorry. Been on vacation. Here is an update and some pics:

Had a great time in Branson, MO with the Matsuyamas. Also got to hang out with the DeLaunes & the Roths.
Spending the last part of our vacation in Van Buren, AR visiting Ashley’s family.
My back went out Friday….yes, I’m serious. It was horribly painful. I couldn’t walk. I have an appointment with a physical therapist on Monday. Thanks to Dr. Hannah Bridges for her expert opinion.
Started reading Malcolm Gladwell’s book Outliers. Absolutely love it so far.
Looking forward to water baptism at NLC this Wed.
Can’t wait to start new series next Sunday night at Elevation called Sayings of the Wise.
