Team Building

I’ve recently been studying team building while pursuing my masters in Christian leadership at Liberty University. It’s prompted me to organize thoughts on how I build my teams. I figured I would share them with all the team builders out there.

The first thing that comes to mind is importance of selecting the leaders on the team. It’s absolutely amazing you can accomplish when you have the right people in the right spots. You can take over a field in business, win a city, build a dynasty, and pretty much do anything with the right team. Jesus hand picked his twelve members and so should we.

Over the next few posts I will share qualities that I look for in potential team members or leaders.

Teachable

There are SO many truths in Scripture about being teachable to others. I would say that probably my biggest strength is my ability to learn from others. I’m not ashamed of it. Teach me something!

Proverbs 9:8-9 (NIV) “Do not rebuke a mocker or he will hate you; rebuke a wise man and he will love you. Instruct a wise man and he will be wiser still; Teach a righteous man and he will add to his learning.”

Proverbs 10:22 (NIV) “Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.”

Proverbs 12:1 (NIV) “Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is stupid.”

Proverbs 12:15 (NIV) “Fools think they need no advice, but the wise listen to others

I always like to give out a list of books that I read. Please leave a comment of any books that you recommend for me. Here are the books I read in 2010. Books UNDERLINED are highly recommended.
